Dr. Samuel Taylon is a fellowship trained neurosurgeon in complex spinal surgery. Dr. Taylon attended Medical School at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. Subsequently, he completed his neurosurgery training at the Medical School of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. After finishing his seven-year residency program, Dr. Taylon pursued additional training. He then completed his fellowship in complex and reconstructive spinal surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland under the direction of Dr. Nicholas Theodore, Chief of spinal surgery.
Dr. Taylon is a Midwest native, having been born and raised just up the road in Omaha, Nebraska. He is a second-generation neurosurgeon, as his father, Dr. Charles Taylon, practiced for over 35 years. Dr. Taylon had very early exposure to neurosurgery and has committed much of his life to the field.
After finishing his eight years of training on the east coast, Dr. Taylon was eager to return to the Midwest, and settled in Kansas City with Midwest Neurosurgery Associates.
Beyond his knowledge and experience with general neurosurgery, Dr. Taylon’s expertise includes the surgical treatment of all degenerative spinal condition, scoliosis, spinal deformity, spinal trauma, and spinal tumors. He is a member of both the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Taylon prides himself on providing complete and understandable medical information to all his patients. He believes every patient is unique, and strives to individualize their treatment. He includes every patient and their loved ones in the decision-making process of their own care.
